This Sniper Suit Uses Natural Jute String

Before the advent of the ultralight ghillie string that is used in ghillies today there was the natural burlap or jute string. This material is what was used in some of the earliest ghillie suits. Burlap sacks were readily available so snipers would tear these into strips to make their camouflage.

We still have this material available and it is still popular among enthusiasts. While the ultralight material offers most all of the benefits of the Jute, it does initially have a more natural look as the jute is hand dyed in our warehouse. Jute requires more maintenance and is much heavier to deal with but it can make some amazing camouflage.

How we make the Ultimate Sniper Suit?

The Ghillie Suits has a custom ghillie jacket and pants available. The jacket and pants are BDU’s (battle dress uniforms) and they come in many sizes that you get to choose from. You also get to choose the pattern of the BDU. We generally offer about 3 patterns. The front of this sniper suit is reinforced with a layer of cordura material for those long sniper crawls.

We can make this heavy duty sniper suit using Jute string. After you choose the bdu pattern and size you can also add some additional customizations. You can add some venting on the back and choose to leave all the pockets open. On top of the bdu’s we sew our nylon netting with the Jute string attached in the pattern you choose. Because of this configuration you can easily customize the pattern to the local area by adding vegetation to the netting.

These sniper ghillie suits will make it through a rigourous sniper course taken by potential military snipers. If there is no time to make your own you can order this suit and it gets delivered direct to you ready for action. It will last for many, many years. Because of the jute you are required to apply fire retarant if you every wash the suit. That is because jute string is more flammagle than synthetic string. The fire retardant is sprayed on and the suit is left out to dry. We apply fire retardant before shipping.

Of course we also make the Ultralight Sniper Suit. Instead of jute, we use our ultralight string. This makes the suit much lighter and fire retardant is not necessary.

This Ghillie Suits uses Jute String and it blends in very well.
